Hey folks,
Well the cold weather has really slowed things up. When temperatures get into the 20's in Southwest Florida that is really cold for here. Really makes me miss Tarpon season! The good news is that it is going to warm up and as temperatures rise the fish should start to feed. Look for Trout and Redfish on the edges of the deeper flats and as the day heats up the fish will ease further on to the flats to feed. You will still need to be be patient and slow your presentation to get the fish to feed. Slowing your presentation is going to be especially important for snook as they are greatly effected by the cold. Look for Snook in the deeper areas of the river, creeks and canals that are protected from the wind. These areas will warm up faster and that is important. Don't forget to start booking your Tarpon trips now to get the dates you want! Catch Fish,No Excuse! Capt. Danny Latham |
